Owner's Manual- Hanging the Umbrella with a Crane, if You Must

Listen up before you start: This ain't a regular umbrella any longer, it's an overhead load, treat it like one.Safety first death or serious bodily harm can occur.

Make sure the top Ball is nice and tight. If you hang it regularly please put a 1" - 1" 1/4 set screw on the cap like in picture to avoid the cap unscrewing itself with the wind when hoisted above you. The threads will not shear they are rated at over 200 lbs but they will come unscrewed.
Run your wire rope. Thread a heavy-duty wire rope through the pre-drilled hole in the umbrella knob. Don't skimp here. This ain't the place for baling wire or para cord. Get something rated for the load.
Hang it on the hook. Slide that wire loop right onto the crane hook. Make sure it's seated all the way in the throat, not just perched on the tip. Most cranes have a swivel hook which help with the cap from coming unscrewed

Wind's gonna do what wind does, and over time it can work that knob loose, if it ain't snug down properly or set screwed installed. So, before you hoist it, double check your set screw and your wire. If anything feels loose, tighten it up.

Bottom line: HANG IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. (The threads are rated at 200 pounds not to shear but they can unscrew themselves.)
