Protection You Can Trust
Every leather welding mask we offer is also either a chopped top or a chopped top and bottom hood, which are significantly lighter than traditional full-face welding hoods, but we have those too if you just want it all! Using leather as a lightweight replacement reduces strain on the neck and head during long welding sessions, providing more comfort to the wearer. Welding hood leather is also very durable and heat-resistant, shielding your head from the sparks and extreme heat generated during welding.
FAQs
How Long Will it Take to Receive My Leather Welding Helmet?
All of our leather welding hoods are made to order, so you are getting handcrafted quality every time. As leaders in the industry, we have the best systems for quality and are currently at a turnaround time of up to three business days, with our fast shipping time added on after that. We are not the fastest-growing welding hood company for nothing. With our short lead times, you’ll get your hands on your leather pipeliner hood in no time.
Are Your Hoods OSHA or ANSI Certified?
The Finer Pipeliners and Jolly Ranchers are certified, but not our Carbon Fiber Hoods. Take a moment to read and understand the warnings and instructions we provide with your order. Our leather welding masks are made from premium materials, but the carbon welding hoods are real carbon fiber and do conduct electricity. These hoods should be used responsibly and within their intended purpose. Safety first, always! With that being said, electricity takes the path of least resistance; that's why we, as humans who are also conductive, can make a weld, be soaked in sweat, lean on the conductive pipe, and not get shocked.
I’m Concerned About Heat. Will Leather Lead to More Sweating?
No, it will not lead to more sweating. It will, however, lead to more comfortable days and the ability to get closer to your welds while in restrictive situations.
How Can I Maintain My Leather Welding Helmet?
In order to keep your leather welding hood from wearing too quickly, make sure to store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not wash the leather; wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and sweat, and make sure to avoid harsh chemicals. To keep your leather supple, condition it periodically with a leather conditioner. These steps will ensure your leather welding mask lasts for years to come.
Can I Replace the Lens on My Leather Welding Hood?
You can! Whether your lens becomes cracked, scratched, or simply worn from daily use, you can easily swap it out for a fresh one. We offer a lineup of fixed shade and variable shade Eagle Vision lenses that provide optimal visibility for many welding applications. They will fit any industry standard 2’x 4 ¼”. When you need to replace your lens, explore our collection and see the Pipeliners Cloud difference.
