Finer Sugar Scoop

Get a Finer welding experience with our Chopped Top Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hood — the ultimate combo of style, comfort, and performance.

Spending long hours under a heavy hood isn’t just uncomfortable; it can cause strain, along with shoulder and back pain. Finer chopped top sugar scoop welding hoods are often lighter than full-face welding hoods. Chopping the hood does not just make the hood look good; it helps you get closer to the welds when you are in tight spots. It's all about being comfortable.

The compact design of our Chopped Top Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hood makes it easy to get into tight spaces where a standard hood feels too bulky, and the premium leather bib along the top helps to prevent sunlight and bright workshop light from entering the hood and creating a glare on your lens. This chopped top sugar scoop hood is great for pipeline work, overhead welding, and working in tight, restrictive spaces like pipe racks and convection boxes.

Our Chopped Top Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hoods utilize a special polymer fiber mix shell and soft, premium leather for a combination of comfort and durability to withstand the toughest job sites and keep you protected from the sparks, spatter, and high heat generated during welding. Plus, each of our chopped sugar scoop welding hoods also includes custom aluminum hood fasteners.

Customize Your Chopped Top Sugar Scoop

Make your chopped top welding hood your own with our wide variety of leather bib colors and designs. Choose from the standard premium leather, or have your chopped sugar scoop hood made with one-of-a-kind pirarucu fish leather for a distinctive look that’s uniquely yours. We also offer a choice between a flip-up or fixed lens box to create a hood that fits your work style.

What’s Included:

• Chopped Top Finer Sugar Scoop Hood
• Adjustable headgear
• Custom aluminum hood fasteners (a $20 value)
• Metal retaining clip (a $13 value) with fixed lens box option

Lens sold separately.

Which Lens Box is Right for You?

The lens box configuration you choose depends on both your work style and your personal preference. Both options are compatible with the standard 2”x4.25” fixed shade and automatic welding lenses to make it easier to swap in different shades or specialty lenses.

• Choose the flip-up lens box if you frequently need to inspect your welds, grind, or want to see clearly between welds without having to completely remove your hood. The hinged lens box allows you to switch between a shaded welding view and a clear view with ease. Perfect for students and refinery welders.
• Choose the fixed lens box if you prefer a more traditional hood setup. The fixed lens welding hood has a lens box that is part of the shell for a consistent field of vision every time you put it on. It works best for those who weld more than they grind, like pipeliners, shop welders, etc.

A Finer welding experience starts with the right welding hood. Our Chopped Top and Bottom Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hood lets you reduce the rigid bulkiness of a full-face hood without sacrificing protection from sparks, molten splatter, and other job site hazards.  A chopped welding hood is often chosen for its comfort by providing flexible leather that gets you closer to your weld while still providing protection. With premium leather at the top and bottom, the double chopped design delivers more flexibility and freedom of movement while keeping the classic sugar scoop base you know and love.

Part of our Finer Sugar Scoop collection, this leather welding hood uses a durable polymer fiber mix shell for a strong foundation paired with premium leather at the top and bottom for added flexibility and airflow. Built for pipeline welders, fabricators, and anyone who works in tight, restrictive spaces, this double chopped sugar scoop creates a compact profile that makes it easier to get up close and personal to your welds and lets you look down at your work without the bottom of a hood digging into your chest.

No matter the job site, this double chopped sugar scoop welding hood is made for welders who want their gear to work as hard as they do — and look good doing it.

What makes our white sugar scoop welding hood finer than the others?

For starters, the super-strong and ultra-durable shell is made in-house right here in the USA. This inexpensive welding hood uses a special polymer fiber mix designed to provide the durability and protection that you should expect from dependable gear. It also comes with a beautiful white finish, which can reflect heat better than darker colors to reduce the surface temperature of your helmet when welding out in the bright sun or in hot shops. Add in the classic sugar scoop shape, and you’ve got a hood that delivers the style and performance welders of all skill levels can benefit from.

Not only that, but each Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hood also comes with adjustable headgear and custom aluminum hood fasteners to eliminate worry about stripping and helmet slippage, so you can focus more on your welds and less on your equipment.

The Trimmed Bottom Finer Sugar Scoop Welding Hood brings a Finer fit to a welder classic. Part of our Finer Sugar Scoop collection, this modified white sugar scoop welding hood offers the ultimate combo of style, comfort, and performance. With a shell made in-house in the USA and crafted from a blend of polymer fibers, our trimmed bottom sugar scoop is built to handle the toughest job sites, providing exceptional durability, protection, and comfort for those who wear it.

This trimmed bottom welding hood combines the traditional sugar scoop shape with a slightly slimmer bottom profile to give welders a bit more freedom to move while working without needing to go to a fully chopped bottom hood. With approximately one inch removed from the bottom of the shell, this helmet helps reduce the annoyance of your hood constantly digging into your chest or collarbone when you’re trying to look down at your welds or switching positions in those tight, awkward shop spaces. The modest cut also means less of the bottom slamming into your chest when flipping your hood back down.

Customize Your Trimmed Bottom Sugar Scoop

Choose between a fixed or flip-up lens box to build a hood that fits the way you work. The customizations don’t have to end there. Make it your own with your preferred welding lenses, or add stickers to further personalize your setup. Each hood also comes with custom aluminum hood fasteners for a secure, ready-to-use setup right out the box.
